Charmander Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Plush
Year: 2006
Company: Pokemon Center
Country of origin: USA
Where I bought it: eBay
Comments: This Charmander was included as part of a big package you could get while purchasing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team from the Pokemon Center online store. When preorders for the Rescue Team games were going up with this offer, I decided against getting it even though I wanted the Charmander because I wanted to play Blue Rescue Team more since it was on the DS and it was an exciting system at the time. I regretted it as soon as I got really into Blue Rescue Team, but of course at that time it was too late to order the Red Rescue Team package. I'm so glad I found it on eBay years later!

Company: Nagatanien
Country of origin: Japan
Where I bought it: Pokemon Collectors Discord server
Comments: This little Charmander is going to take a BIG STEP and I love him very much. Auctions for this figure still in its package and learned that it was actually made by Nagatanien and was distributed as a fun surprise in furikake packets. There was still no year on the packaging, but at least I know where it come from for sure now!

Pop-Tart Charmander Figure
Year: 2000
Company: Sasco Co.
Country of origin: USA
Where I bought it: Originally I had some from the actual Pop-Tart boxes, but this particular one is from online
Comments: This figure has given me so much heartache oh my gosh. When the Pop-Tart boxes with these figures came out, I really loved Pop-Tarts in general anyway so of course I begged my parents to just get me the special Pokemon ones whenever we would go shopping at Walmart for the food for the week. In all, I think I had 3 Charmander, 3 Poliwrath, and one Chansey by the end of the promotion. During that time, I also moved to a different place and got a neighbor who also liked Pokemon so we played together a lot and it was great! He wasn't allowed to have Pokemon stuff around his room though, so I'd try to help him feel better by giving him some of my toys. Eventually, I gave away all of my Charmander because I figured I didn't need little Charmander figures if I had a big one (It was the cake topper figure). Ever since then I have regretted giving them all away because it really is a neat figure and I loved my Charmander a lot haha. I finally found one on Pokemon Collectors and snatched it! The metallic sheen is really nice, and the face shape is unique!

Charmander - Japanese
Set: Expansion Pack (Base Set)
Year: 1996
No number
Rarity: Common
Comments: After the initial US Pokemon hype in the fall of 1998, some hobby stores started importing Japanese card packs for kids influenced by the craze to gobble them up. I had a friend during the initial craze who gave this card to me because I had never seen such cards before and I was really hyped about the anime and Red/ Blue (of course). It helped fuel my personal excitement about the franchise because I couldn't wait to get more eventually!
